02  /  What we know

What we know about professional services

Accountancy, consultancy and advisory firms run on the same patterns: secure client portals, time and billing, document management, engagement workflows. The product is the firm's process, and the software has to respect that.

These environments share a strict confidentiality posture. Client-side portals need to keep one client's data invisible to another's. Time has to be captured at the point of the work, not reconstructed at the end of the week. Documents need to outlive staff turnover, regulator review and the firm's own renaming conventions.

Integration is usually most of the brief: the firm already runs Xero, Sage, IRIS, Practice Engine or a similar platform, and the bespoke pieces sit alongside it rather than replacing it. We build the connective tissue that lets the firm extract genuine leverage from the tools it already owns.

The mobile pieces follow the same pattern: fee-earner time-tracking apps that capture chargeable time at the moment of the call, the meeting or the site visit; client portal apps that put live engagement progress, invoices and signed documents in the client's hand. Capacitor-based iOS / Android sharing the same backend and confidentiality model as the web portal.

Anonymised, because we have to be. The kind of system, for the kind of business, and what it had to do.

05  /  Questions

Common questions, answered plainly.

01 Do you build practice management software for accountancy firms?
Yes. Time and billing, client portals, document management and the integration glue that ties bespoke work back to the platform the firm already runs — Xero, Sage, IRIS or similar.
02 Can you integrate with our existing accounting platform?
Yes. We work integration-first with platforms like Xero, Sage, IRIS and Practice Engine. Most firms already have the platform they need — the value is in bridging gaps and adding the bespoke pieces around it.
03 How do you handle client confidentiality in shared portals?
Isolation is enforced at the data layer, not the application layer. Every query is scoped to the engagement; cross-engagement access requires explicit, audited permission. Download logging and access trails are first-class concerns.
04 Do you work with law firms?
Legal work has its own deep page — see /sectors/legal. Case management, court timetabling, undertakings and jurisdiction-specific compliance live there.
05 Are you UK-based?
Yes, we operate from Scotland and work with UK professional-services firms.
